Clarkson's Farm airs on Prime Video and the final moments of season four revealed how builder Alan Townsend was due to have major heart surgery, after putting so much work into renovating the pub.
Jeremy explained: "We moved on to a more sobering topic because the whole time Alan had been working flat out on the pub, he had been waiting for some major heart surgery."
Alan then confirmed he was just days away from undergoing a quadruple bypass at the hospital. "And they have got to test for stroke likelihood as well?" Jeremy asked.
He then observed how last year they had been hit hard by the news of Gerald Cooper's cancer battle, from which he has recovered. "This year, we have our fingers crossed for your operation," Jeremy added.
