A Glasgow teacher is geared up to walk 50km along the Great Wall of China to raise funds for Childline.

Angela Sloan, who grew up in Cambridge but has lived in Glasgow for nearly 30 years, is one of a group of 18 fundraisers taking on the major challenge later this year to raise money for Childline, the lifesaving service delivered by the NSPCC.

The group has called themselves the “Tartan Trailblazers” and will head to the Chinese landmark – one of the Seven Wonders of the World – in September and will walk 10km on five consecutive days.

Angela has been a teacher for nearly 40 years and a volunteer Childline counsellor for about seven and a half years, so she has seen how vital the service is first hand.
