GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of Grand Rapids is celebrating its 175th birthday Saturday with a free party for the community.

The 175th Birthday Bash is being held at Rosa Parks Circle. It kicks off at 2 p.m. with an opening prayer from members of the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians.

The festivities will feature live music and entertainment, carnival games, balloon artists and a scavenger hunt. There will be plenty of food, including cake, ice cream, hotdogs and popcorn.

Attendees will also be able to check out an exhibit called "175 Moments in History," a compilation of 175 images from Grand Rapids' history.
