MEDORA, N.D. — Maggie “Mags” Scanlon is at ease as she winds through the streets of Medora, the tiny western North Dakota town where she’s spent most summers for the better part of the last decade working behind the scenes of the annual musical. People who work on the show or behind the counters at her favorite local coffee shops and bars know her simply as Mags, a beloved stagehand of the professional production who rose to the position of master electrician for last summer’s show after having been a preseason electrician in previous years.
