LAKE CARMEL – Motorists traveling along Route 52 from the Route 311 intersection in Lake Carmel to the Putnam-Dutchess County line will soon be sighing a breath of relief now that word has been received of a major resurfacing project will be continuing.

The initial phase of the $3.6 million project, which was completed last summer, spanned from Fowler Avenue in Carmel to Route 311. In addition to repaving, the State Department of Transportation will complete necessary repairs to storm water catch basins—improvements that are part of a broader investment in infrastructure aimed at strengthening the region’s transportation network and boosting climate resilience.

State Assemblyman Matt Slater and State Senator Peter Harckham were instrumental in getting the project off the ground.
