ABERDEEN − United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced that a jury has convicted Gokoh Frank Brown, 29, from Watertown, South Dakota, of one count of aggravated sexual abuse by force and one count of sexual abuse of a minor following a two-day jury trial in federal district court in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
The verdict was returned on May 21, 2025, according to a release. The charges carry a maximum penalty of life in federal prison and/or a $250,000 fine, and up to a lifetime term of supervised release.
Brown was indicted by a federal grand jury in August 2024, the release states. From January 2023 to August 2023, Brown sexually assaulted a 12- to 13-year-old girl while living in Red Iron Housing on the Lake Traverse Reservation, according to the report by Ramsdell. Brown was 26
