WHEATON, Mo. (KY3) -A church in Wheaton, Mo., is cleaning up after an EF-1 tornado did damage to the building.

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado hit a few minutes before 7:30 a.m. Friday and lasted around eight minutes.

The 95 mph winds did significant damage to the Body of Christ Church, creating a large hole on the side of the building.

The church runs a large food pantry in the area. The damaged building is also where they store the food trucks.

Gene Robinson, pastor at the Body of Christ Church, says the storms will not prevent the church from normal services.

“Our next pantry will be next Thursday, and we’ll do our regular pantry next week,” said Robinson. “We’re not going to let something like this affect us that way."
