KATY — Every morning for 22 years, Sudawan Richardson rises at 5:30 in the morning to tend to her five-acre farm atop a mountain in the unincorporated community of Katy.
Farmer’s market season began over two weeks ago, and for rest of the hot summer months, Richardson alone will do everything from maintaining and harvesting her crop to selling at market. At 70, her farm, with its nine gardens, three green houses and one koi pond is a one-woman operation.
