DES MOINES, Iowa —

Clouds rolled in overnight helping to keep temperatures mild, most of the state waking up to readings in the low and mid-60s. A few spotty showers popped up early this morning, with additional showers and storms expected throughout the day.

Early morning showers have been limited to mainly northern Iowa, around Algona and Fort Dodge. Those showers will push to the east and northeast, leaving central and southern Iowa dry for the start of the day. A second round of showers and a few storms over eastern Nebraska will start to push into Iowa by 8am, reaching central Iowa by 10am.
