The Longview Public Library opened the Summer Reading Club on Friday with its Kickoff Party.

The free event outside the library on West Cotton Street offered games, foam pit, bounce houses and more.

For six weeks in June and July as part of its Summer Reading Club, the library incorporates daily educational and entertaining activities for children that keep them engaged with learning. The club also offers prize opportunities for completion of weekly reading goals and activities.

Parents and guardians can register children up to age 17 online at longviewtexas.beanstack.org/reader365 or at the library’s children’s desk. Paper activity logs also will be available at the children’s desk.
