Fans of Clarkson’s Farm have been relieved to hear that resident builder Alan Townsend – or Alan the Builder – is doing well following his recent heart surgery.

Viewers have grown to love Diddly Squat handyman Alan, who’s been integral in helping Jeremy Clarkson open his new pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

In the fourth series, which is currently airing on Amazon Prime, Alan revealed that he was facing major heart surgery.

In scenes filmed last year, the middle-aged builder told Jeremy that he was feeling ‘terrified’ ahead of his upcoming appointment.

‘Yeah, we’re in next Tuesday at the hospital. Quadruple bypass coming,’ he revealed as he and Jeremy celebrated the pub’s opening.
