A suspect has appeared in court after a man was reportedly assaulted with a weapon in Chatham.

The victim was reportedly left with face and neck injuries from an assault with a knife.

On Wednesday June 4, police arrested a suspect in the incident. Steven Miskin, of no fixed address, was later charged with wounding with intent.

The 48-year-old appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday June 5. He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on July 4.

The incident occurred in Meadowbank Road, Chatham during the early evening of Friday, May 9. Police have said that the victim, a man in his 30s, had a verbal altercation with another man he did not know.
