The amount of fuel spilled into the Baltimore Harbor that occurred Wednesday is more than double the amount initially reported.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott said approximately 5,000 gallons of fuel spilled.
In a statement, Kim Hoppe, vice president of public relations for Johns Hopkins medicine, said: “Johns Hopkins continues to work closely with federal, state and local authorities as well as the environmental remediation crews who have been working tirelessly to clean up the harbor. Our review of the situation is ongoing, and, as we continue to gather information, we are updating the estimate of the overflow.
