WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — West Hartford police are investigating after a pedestrian was found unresponsive and seriously injured on South Main Street overnight. Police allege the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle that later left the scene.

Police responded to the 200 block of South Main Street around 2 a.m. Saturday after a passerby called 911 to report a pedestrian unresponsive in the roadway.

Responding officers found the victim at the scene, and the victim was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Police said they found evidence of a vehicle crash, but did not find the vehicle in question at the scene.

South Main Street is now open after temporarily closing for the investigation.

This incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made at this time
