On the same night Marcelo Mayer hit his first MLB home run, his former teammate Kyle Teel made his MLB debut and recorded his first career hit.

Teel, formerly a top Red Sox prospect, was promoted to the White Sox on Thursday and made his first appearance on Friday, batting sixth. He smacked an opposite field line drive single in the fourth inning at Chicago’s home ballpark.
