This spring, Karomi Contreras had two graduations.

She walked the stage with her Travis Early College High School classmates. And, Contreras, an 18-year-old Austinite, also completed her associate's degree at Austin Community College.

During the school year, she juggled her regular high school classes with four sports, student clubs like National Honor Society, and her ACC courses, while setting herself up for an internship at Austin FC this summer.

The degree has given Contreras a jumpstart into classes that interest her and set her up to enter college as a sophomore this fall at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, where she intends to pursue an international business degree.
