CORTLAND, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) --"Hello Dolly" seems a perfect fit for the turn-of-the-twentieth-century playhouse along Little York Lake. And yet, this is the first time in its 54 seasons that Cortland Repertory Theatre has taken on the classic musical.

It's the story of a widowed matchmaker made famous by larger-than-life personalities like Carol Channing, Pearl Bailey, and Barbra Streisand.

The cast of professional actors and community theatre stalwarts is supplemented by a dozen talented young performers from colleges around the Northeast.

And they fill the intimate 250-seat Pavilion Theatre in Preble's Dwyer Memorial Park.
