Duluthian Robert W. Williams, a former valet to President Grover Cleveland who once sang with Madam Louise Homer, died at the Lighthouse for the Blind at 54. Williams was born in 1871 to a formerly enslaved mother. After losing his sight, he spent the last eight years of his life earning a living by weaving baskets.
