A Dyer-based artist, muralist and long-time arts educator who has mentored many Region artists landed a "miracle show" in one of the most prominent exhibition spaces in the Midwest.
Tom Torluemke is exhibiting in the prominent 4th floor Exhibit Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St. in the Loop. Hundreds of thousands of visitors go to the former library across from Millennium Park, along one of the most heavily trafficked stretches of Michigan Avenue.
"It's a miracle show," Torluemke said.
He has previously exhibited on a lower floor in the Chicago Cultural Center but has been trying to get into one of the more prominent exhibition spaces on the fourth floor for years. The curator there reached out to him but never came for a studio visit.
