High Street fashion giant River Island is on red alert and has roped in advisors from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to devise a rescue plan for its 230 stores . The retailer, with a workforce of 5,500, is feeling the heat after reporting a hefty £32.2million loss in 2023.
