A man has been arrested after police locked down several streets in Glasgow ’s Anderston following a ‘disturbance’ this morning.

Police closed four streets close to the Mitchell Library, on the edge of Glasgow city centre , after being called to reports of a man “causing a disturbance” on Kent Road, close to St Vincent Street, around 4.45am on Saturday (June 7).

Berkeley Street, Granville Street, Kent Road and Cleveland Street have now reopened after a man was arrested in connection with the incident. Local residents told Glasgow Live they had been locked out of their flats for hours during the incident.

Cops in riot gear were seen on the street and entering a tenement block and the police helicopter was spotted overhead.
