CLEVELAND — The upcoming sentencing for convicted former East Cleveland Mayor Brandon King and ex-East Cleveland City Councilman Ernest Smith has been changed to a hearing.
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Hollie Gallagher was set to sentence the pair at 10:30 a.m. Monday after both were found guilty on multiple corruption charges. Instead, both will be present at the hearing, where a new sentencing date will be selected, according to court documents.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office says King faces a maximum sentence of 54 months in prison, while Smith faces a maximum of 18 months behind bars.
