PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WCHS) — Troopers are investigating after a missing Virginia man’s body was found in a creek in Pike County, Kentucky.

The body of Adam Stanley, 48, of Haysi, Va., was found in a creek Wednesday near Big Branch Road in the Elkhorn City area, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.

Stanley’s body was transported to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
