SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Light showers and sprinkles are dotting Siouxland this morning. Additional showers or weak thunderstorms could redevelop this afternoon.

Morning sprinkles will weaken and dissipate by mid-morning. Shortly after noon, pop-up showers are expected to develop in eastern Siouxland. The strongest cells could become weak thunderstorms. No strong or severe thunderstorms are expected. The pop-up showers and thunderstorms will diminish after sunset.

Elsewhere, the afternoon will be dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs in those locations will peak near 80°, but where rain is expected, highs will be slightly cooler in the mid-70s.

Rain chances will increase again around midnight as a cold front moves into Siouxland. Showers will persist through Sunday morning along and south
