The Boston Red Sox seemingly avoided a major setback with one of their (many) rehabbing veterans.

Kutter Crawford, who has been on the injured list since the start of the season with right patellar tendinopathy, was scratched from beginning a rehab assignment before his wrist began giving him trouble. Boston wanted to get it checked right away, so the organization sent him to see a specialist and somewhat suprisingly received good news.

Crawford’s wrist is just sore, with scans showing zero evidence of structural damage,

“It’s up to him now as (far as) tolerance,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Friday, per Christopher Smith of MassLive. “No live (batting practice) scheduled. Just a bullpen and we’ll know more over the weekend.”
