Shortstop Leighann Goode’s celebratory first-inning trot around the bases in Friday night's 10-4 win over Texas Tech echoed the sentiments of Longhorn Nation.
“Oh my God!” Goode screamed as she rounded second base following the biggest hit in Texas softball history. She may not have known it at the time but her three-run homer against Tech's NiJa Canady — the most feared pitcher in America — served as the early kill shot in the national championship game of the Women's College World Series .
