The Humane Society of Skagit Valley is one of 25 animal shelters nationwide chosen for a new pilot project aimed at reuniting lost pets with their families, according to a news release from Best Friends Animal Society.

The project, called Network Neighbors, launched in May.

It enlists volunteers to distribute bilingual yard signs across Skagit County. Each sign features a QR code that links to Petco Love Lost, a free online tool that uses photo-matching technology to match found pets with lost pet reports from shelters and social media.
