On Saturday at 9:22 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a flood advisory in effect until 12:30 p.m. for Albany and Rensselaer counties.
The weather service adds, "Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected."
"Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent," describes the weather service. "Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
