Administrators and principals from Brooklyn South High Schools on May 21 were recognized by the Department of Education for their work in implementing anti-ageism classes into their curriculum.

The teachers who used the Anti-Ageism Resource Guide were recognized as anti-ageism champions and received certificates in recognition of their efforts educating the next generation about the negative effects this discrimination has on society.

"Educating students about ageism is the first step toward ending it," NYC Aging Executive Deputy Commissioner Ryan Murray said in a statement.
