HOUSTON (KIAH)--The Spring Fire Department is building its first ever training facility. It's in its phase one of the project and out of the three phases, the first phase costs $48,000,000. The facility is named after 93 year-old Wilbur "Cotton" Weaver...a Spring, TX legend.

Cotton is a long-time volunteer, former fire chief and public servant. He's been working with the fire department since 1953. “I never thought I’d see something like this named after me. I was about 20 years as fire chief, and we didn't have does what we got today," Cotton says.
