ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter removed numerous animals from a home on Friday.
Shannon Posada, Director of the Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter, said the shelter was alerted to the case earlier in the week.
"We had some calls from some concerned citizens about some animals that needed a welfare check on this week," said Posada. "We were also alerted by some more concerned citizens. An agency had asked us to look at the animals on the property as well. "
The animal shelter took a multitude of pets from an Elizabethton home over the course of the day.
"We have some domesticated animals," said Posada. "We have some exotic animals."
Animals seized included dogs, cats, snakes, rabbits, ferrets and lemurs.
"It's divided between a few dif
