GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Greenfield Mayor Virginia Desorgher was awarded a Housing Hero Award by the Massachusetts Housing Partnership at a ceremony on Thursday.

Mayor Desorgher received this award during a ceremony at MHP's Housing Institute conference in Worcester. She was recognized for creating more housing opportunities in the city of Greenfield, using innovative strategies to drive outcomes such as public-private partnerships, flexible zoning, and use of public land for housing.

Deshorger said that the advancements of housing in Greenfield are due to the efforts of many community members, including City Council Vice President John Garrett, who also attended the ceremony.
