I’m surprised the Brainerd Dispatch printed a Guest Opinion that promoted an end to Democracy as we know it. This author came up with bizarre stats that 60% of Americans think the president should have total power and we should agree with his decisions. Our government was designed for just the opposite. A balance of power is the only way to fight off royalty and dictatorships. Our forefathers wrote a Constitution to put in writing to pass down to future generations. Just like the Bible, the Constitution was written as a guide to a good livelihood and fairness. This author doesn’t belong in a legitimate newspaper like the Brainerd Dispatch. A retraction would be a start.
