Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal, D-Manhattan, cites a 2024 report from Food & Water Watch in a supporting memo to legislation proposed by Rosenthal and state Sen. Jabari Brisport, D-Brooklyn, that would prohibit the state Department of Environmental Conservation from issuing permits for any new or expanded large concentrated animal feeding operations.

The legislation would limit the size of dairy farms and other large agricultural operations in the state.
