CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 7-year-old boy is stable after nearly drowning at Lonnie Burten Recreation Center Friday night.

According to Cleveland Police, officers responded to the pool at 2511 E. 46th St around 8:43 p.m. for reports of a child drowning.

Officers arrived and immediately began to render first aid to the 7-year-old.

According to the release, EMS took the child to the hospital, where he is now stable.

Police said they also notified the child’s parents.

The City of Cleveland Pools are set to open for the season on Saturday.
