KANSAS CITY, Mo. —

Police are investigating an early morning house fire that heavily damaged a home.

Kansas City, Missouri firefighters responded to the area of E. 16th Terrace and Oakley Avenue around 1:58 a.m. Saturday morning to help with the flames. Advertisement

The people who lived inside the house made it out safely, and firefighters extinguished the flames. The two residents are now looking for a place to stay.

The cause of this fire is still under investigation. Firefighters say they looked over the scene and-- based on what they found-- decided to call in the Kansas City Police Department's Bomb and Arson Squad to assist.
