The Maryland Attorney General’s Office fined a Cecil County company for violating the state’s Consumer Protection Act.

11 News Investigates first started reporting about Tiffin Mats in 2015 over unfilled orders. Customers told 11 News Investigates that they paid thousands of dollars for mats they never received.

Then, eight years later, 11 News Investigates visited the athletic equipment company under new ownership only to find the same issues persisted. In some cases, the state found Tiffin Mats misled customers about the status of their orders.

A massive fire destroyed Tiffin Mats in December 2023, and the company faced civil charges in 2024 on allegations of “deceptive and unfair” trade practices.
