Meet the Mets

After splitting a series against the mighty Dodgers , the Mets prepared to feast against easier competition with another series against the Rockies—this one in Denver. Despite playing in Coors Field, the offense struggled for a good chunk of the game, being held scoreless through six innings. A two-run double from Pete Alonso finally got them on the board, and with the game tied in the ninth, Francisco Lindor—pinch-hitting after taking another day off for his broken toe to heal—hit a two-run double of his own to give the Mets a 4-2 lead, which would prove to be the final score.
