Notre Dame RC School and St Boniface’s RC College are two of the first schools in the country to be benefitting from cheaper energy bills thanks to Great British Energy’s rooftop solar rollout.

Fred Thomas, MP for Plymouth Moor View, has welcomed the news which will ensure approximately £40,000 is saved each year on energy bills between the schools – this means more money for textbooks and teachers.

The schools are among 11 across the country leading the way with the first wave of Great British Energy solar installations now complete. The remaining schools set to benefit will be announced this summer, with all 200 schools that are part of the scheme expected to have solar panels installed by the end of the year.
