BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A furry family was seen wandering in Bridgeport during the wee hours of the morning earlier this week.
A 12 News viewer spotted a mama bear and her three cubs at the back porch of their house in Bridgeport's Lakeland Terrace neighborhood early Friday morning as the mother appeared to try and break into the homeowner's bird feeders.
No other bear sightings have been reported to 12 News since this one was sent to us, but late spring is a common time to find them in north central West Virginia. In late May 2024, a bear was seen running across a road in White Hall, and WVU reported a bear sighting on campus in April of that same year.
