After a nearly two-hour rain delay, Auburn baseball falls to Coastal Carolina 7-6 in extra innings behind four home run hits by the Chanticleers.
The Tigers trailed 6-1 entering the fourth inning then scored five runs in the next five, headlined by home runs from Ike Irish and Eric Snow. Auburn’s bullpen totaled 11 strikeouts to hold the Chanticleers scoreless through those five innings.
Caden Bodine drilled his second home run in the tenth, ending the Chanticleers hitting drought since his fourth inning single.
Game two is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday. If Coastal Carolina wins, it will be their first trip to the College World Series since 2016.
