KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was hit by a bullet while driving in Kalamazoo early Saturday morning, police say.
Around 4:20 a.m., officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were sent to the area of Florence Street near Cobb Avenue after receiving reports about a fight where gunshots were heard.
A short time later, officers learned that a 30-year-old man had arrived at the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. He was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Officers learned that the man was driving through the area of Florence Street and Simpson Street when his vehicle was hit by gunfire. KDPS said a bullet went through the vehicle and his his ankle.
No suspect information was released.
