There was a point in the mid-‘80s when the Del Fuegos were seen as one of the most promising young American bands in the burgeoning indie rock scene.

Tom Petty guested on one of their songs and invited them to open for him on tour. Miller Beer tapped them to star in a commercial. Yet mainstream stardom never came for the band, which remains a cult favorite decades later.
