CULLMAN, Ala. – As part of its monthly Heritage Skills series, the North Alabama Agriplex on Thursday, June 5, hosted an exhibit and presentation on the history of education in Cullman County at the historic Red Hill School House.

During the presentation, which covered the school house’s history, its journey to its current home at Peinhardt Living History Farm, a typical school day in the early 1900s and the history of each school in Cullman County, retired Cullman County teachers shared stories of classrooms and educators spanning decades. They explained past rituals and invited attendees to participate in traditional activities such as ringing the school bell and singing “My Country, ’Tis of Thee.”
