NEW YORK — Boston Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford was checked out in Boston after experiencing wrist pain.
The 29-year-old righty has no structural damage and returned to Fort Myers where he is expected to throw a bullpen session over the weekend.
Crawford, who has been on the injured list since the start of the season with right patellar tendinopathy, was days away from a rehab assignment before his wrist began to hurt him.
“It’s up to him now as (far as) tolerance,” manager Alex Cora said Friday before Boston’s game at Yankee Stadium . “No live BP scheduled. Just a bullpen and we’ll know more over the weekend.”
