GOULD, Ark. (KATV) — Authorities have released additional details following the recapture of convicted killer Grant Hardin earlier this afternoon.

Escaped killer Grant Hardin has been captured after weeks-long chase

After being taken back into custody, Hardin was transported to the North Central Unit in Calico Rock for positive identification through fingerprinting and an initial medical evaluation.

Following his fingerprinting and medical evaluation, he was then immediately transferred to the Varner SuperMax facility in Gould, where he arrived this evening and is expected to remain housed moving forward.

Officials say Hardin did not make it far from the prison, as he was found within 2 miles from where he escaped.
