Sky watchers are in for a sweet pre-summer treat, with the “strawberry moon” of June 2025 getting ready to turn full in the coming days.

The so-called strawberry moon , which will look white or yellow — not reddish, like the fruit — will reach its fullest phase at 3:44 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11.

But experts say this full moon will be notable because it will be rising very low above the horizon and will remain lower than most full moons as it crosses the sky. So it should look bigger than usual.

Thanks to its total illumination so early in the morning, the June moon will be at its brightest on Tuesday night and again on Wednesday night , before dipping to 98% illumination on Thursday night .
