Dangerous heat conditions are expected Saturday through Monday in South Texas before rain chances increase next week, according to the National Weather Service Corpus Christi.

Heat index values are expected to exceed 110 degrees in some areas. Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings may be issued.

The following is the forecast for the next several days in Corpus Christi:

Saturday

A high near 94 and a low of 79; heat index values as high as 105, with widespread haze.

Sunday

Sunny with a high near 95 and low of 80; heat index values as high as 108.

Monday

Mostly sunny with a high near 95 and a low of 79.

Tuesday

A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny with a high near 94 and a low of 79.

Wednesday

A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
