As Massachusetts heads into its 12th rainy weekend in a row , thunderstorms and flash flooding are possible Friday night.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for northwestern Worcester County, northeastern Franklin County and east central Hampshire County until 8:15 p.m. Friday.
Towns including Amherst, Greenfield, Orange, Deerfield, Belchertown, Athol, Winchendon, Montague, Templeton, Hadley, Sunderland, Hatfield, Northfield, Bernardston, Conway, Leverett, Erving, Shutesbury, Phillipston and Gill are expected to experience flooding due to thunderstorms in the area.
A majority of the state — all of Franklin, Worcester, Hampshire and Hampden Counties, central and northern Middlesex County and western Essex County — are under a flood watch until midnight Friday.
