A former South Carolina quarterback has a new home.

Gamecocks transfer quarterback Dante Reno has committed to Yale, On3 reported on Saturday..

The son of Yale head football coach Tony Reno, he was a three-star prospect out of Cheshire Academy in Connecticut.

More notably: He was incredibly loyal to South Carolina, becoming the Gamecocks first 2024 commit after making his pledge in July 2022. He never wavered from his decision and made a great effort to help recruit other top prospects to South Carolina.

In his one year at USC, Reno redshirtted, appeared in just one game and mostly worked with the scout-team offense. But he came into this spring with seemingly a good shot at becoming the backup behind LaNorris Sellers.
